27 Pvt, 20 Govt schools fare poorly in Class XII exams

Even though the overall pass percentage in the recently declared result of the higher secondary part II (Class XII) J&K Board of School Education (JKBOSE) examination for the summer zone stood at 55 per cent, 47 schools, including 20 government and 27 private, of Jammu province performed poorly with 0-20 per cent pass percentage.
As per the data, 1,546 candidates of government schools who appeared in the examination, only 242 passed and only 43 of 395 candidates from private schools passed. What is more shocking is that 19 private schools had zero pass percentage. The pass percentage of the rest of the eight private schools was also very poor.
Private schools with zero pass percentage are Shiva Public Higher Secondary School (HSS), Digiana (Jammu), Indira Memorial HSS, Galwaday Chak; Suman Shiksha Kendra HSS Marc, Oriental HSS, Akhnoor; Prince Doll HSS, RS Pura; Kailash Shiksha Academy HSS, Chak Murar; Sun Rise HSS, Sikander Pur, Bishnah; SPM Convent HSS, Udhampur; National Academy HSS, Chadwal; Rainbow Modern HSS, Kathua; SRM Institute of Education HSS, Kathua; Swami Vivekanand Memorial HSS, Chadwal; Shiv Shiksha Kendra HSS, Gho Brahmana; Modern Public Institute of Education HS, Muradpur; National Institute of Education HSS, Darhal; Sher-e-Kashmir HSS, Darhal; Gandhi Memorial HSS, Raipur; Guru Teg Bahadur HSS, Lakhanpur, and Gandhi Memorial College, Raipur, Bantalab.
A total of 42 candidates from Unique Academy HSS, Barnoti, had appeared in the examination, of which only five passed. The pass percentage of the school was 11.9 per cent.
